| TERPRETING (8pts) Educating children is a wonderful, noble and important task, but how much of our teaching will be left in these young and innocent minds? Because the family circle is only a part of the training of our children who get the biggest part of their education from school, the street and through the radio and T.V programmes. They have to adapt themselves to the society in which they were born. However, this society nowadays is not a model of perfection, but rather a circle full of contradictions, hypocrisy, in which no emphasis is put on good or evil, and the parents are, very often, too busy with their occupations and problems to take care about the education of their children. In this century, man is competing against time. The individual is always in a hurry and has not enough time to relax and think about his destiny. A man, born in such a society, has difficulties to live in harmony and peacefully with the other people because he lives in a jungle. What about the children who are illegitimate or are unwanted by their own parents? Do they receive the amount of affection and care that any child normally receives? Nowadays, the moral, humanistic and religious values of the past are replaced by materialism, profit and interest. How can we condemn a young delinquent in a society where violence and crime are a daily routine? Yes, of course, man has been given intelligence and is responsible for his actions, but his society, his family circle and the way he has been brought up have the greatest part of responsibility in what this individual has become. Man’s choice is limited since he is the product of the community in which he is living.
